Our Packaging
All of our meat is de-boned on the premises fresh and then frozen down for shipping across New Zealand.
Vacuum packing
We vacuum seal all of our meat which helps preserve food by removing air from the bag it is stored in
It gets rid of oxygen which affects food in various ways including odour, colour, taste & texture
Vacuum sealing holds in the moisture, juices and flavour of the food; you’ll notice the difference in taste
Most vacuum sealed foods will last in the refrigerator for up to 4-7 days, which is much longer than the typical 2-3 days food will last when stored conventionally in a refrigerator
Wool - the sustainable, cost-effective alternative for polystyrene used in couriering our Meat Boxes.
Planet Protect - https://www.planetprotectorgroup.com/packaging/planet-impact
Wool is the best natural insulator on the planet and keeps our meat fresh with ice packs included. We use packaging solutions that are made from 100% wool sourced from crossbred sheep, raised for their meat rather than their fleece. This wool is unsuitable for textiles and ordinarily destined for landfill.
The liners are reusable, recyclable and/or compostable, meaning ZERO components of WOOLPACK are sent to landfill at the end of its life. The greenhouse gas emissions are 290 times less than polystyrene, using 70% less water and reducing water pollution by 49%.
Freezing
Helps to preserve nutrients in food
Stops rapid nutrient deterioration
Halts the spread of bacteria, resulting in food that is both fresher and safer to eat
Frozen food that is vacuum sealed lasts an average 12 months
With years of knowledge and advances in technology we are always working with the best and most up to date process to ensure all our meat products are safe and fresh.
